Through all the ruble and destruction, the unique spirit and soul of New Orleans is again starting to shine through. No other place would measure it's recovery by "Rebuilding New Orleans One Party at a Time," (click on photo for larger view) . But then again, no other place is like New Orleans.
If you've ever thought about going to New Orleans, now is a great time to make some plans. April is the best time of year to visit New Orleans. The weather is perfect, and you don't have to deal with the Mardi Gras crazies. The free French Quarter Festival is April 20-23, followed by the two weekends of New Orleans Jazz Festival -- and the always great lineup is sure to be enhanced by some mega-stars who want to help the Crescent City recover. All the great restaurants are open, and there will be music everyplace -- and the only hurricanes you'll have to worry about are served in tall glasses.
You'll have a great time, and you'll be helping the city and its people recover. What's better than that?
