From the inner-city of Indianapolis and Gary, to the rural landscape of North Judson and Montpieler, more than 200 Indiana lawyers walked into over 200 middle schools throughout Indiana on September 9 talking to over 20,000 8th graders about the Bill of Rights and to inviting them to "Ask Me What’s Great About America."
The lawyers volunteered to speak with students as part of the fourth annual Ask Me What’s Great About America program commemorating the events of September 11. Once again, the ISBA was able to provide a volunteer lawyers for every school in the state that wanted to participate in the program – no matter how remote the location.
The award-winning program is a project of the Young Lawyers Section; The intent is to change the focus of September 11 from the tragedy of the events of 2001 to a day to remember the freedoms which make America great.
Lawyers focused on the Bill of Rights and the freedoms which distinguish America.
